James Weber, Co-Founder: The Leukemia Needs Foundation
From the moment the doctor came into the emergency room
and said...straight out, "You have Acute Myloid Leukemia and you'll
be staying with us for about a month...", James' life took a wild
turn. James' Leukemia Story is Chronicled here: James Weber's Story
Ever since James had a successful bone marrow transplant, he's
been looking to give back somehow to the wonderful community that
saved his life. His friend, Dr. Patrick Fullerton, suggested
that maybe they should do something together...and the Leukemia
Needs Foundation was born.
A little about James' Photography work:
James cut his teeth in the Navy for 6 years doing journalistic
and documentary photography. From there he decided to go to
New York and start up James Weber Studio. www.jamesweberstudio.com
James opened up his own studio and set up shop shooting fashion
and beauty. During his 10 years in New York, James has worked
with some of the best hair, makeup, and wardrobe stylists.
His goal is to grow old and gray with a camera in his hands, just
like his photographic idol, Irving Penn.
This is a self-portrait I took on the last day of
my hospital stay at Sloan-Kettering(2nd Hospital Visit to do the
Bone Marrow Transplant).

This is a portrait a friend of mine did on 4/13/2011, almost 12
months since the bone marrow transplant...
